The meme “Stalin shouldn’t have stop at Berlin” turns him into a follower of Trotsky. It seems the intellectual condemnation of Stalin makes him morally bankrupt at the same time. Giving him the characteristics of a barbarian at the intellectual level puts Stalin at a primitive level regarding morality as well. Those communists who see Stalin as a violent badass are turning him into Trotsky… It was the red army leader who was a disturbing piece of shit, extremely violent and severely stupid.

It is relevant. It’s the lens that you use to analyze the world. Your deterministic worldview makes everything permissible on the grounds of “material interests.” But it’s exactly like liberalism since it always comes with an exclusionary clause. So a person can do anything to improve their material conditions at the expense of others. Morality is then completely gone.

You would need to read Losurdo’s book on liberalism to understand the inherent exclusionary clause of liberalism, which is the dominant ideology of the West. It infects materialist thinking, including yours and mine. It’s something you have to consciously fight on a daily basis.

Despite its flaws and their involvement with the socdems my place of work the Union has a really based foreign policy as they keep an anti imperialist line. Right now they issued an internal memo saying foreign intervention in Iran is a no go for them and that they absolutely do not support such possible actions, same with Venezuela and Palestine and Greenland for example. I wonder if some higher up secret ML has a say in all this

It is an insult to the millions murdered by the US so far but they were non white and far away and the president then was probably a civilized man or the ‘good party guy’.

That and I’ve seen very little direct material analysis of conditions on the ground besides general national feeling in Venezuela, lots of protests against the U.S., tons of mobilization, but not too much else besides trying to recuperate without Maduro.
