“We are getting constant calls from victims because their names – despite them never coming forward, being completely unknown to the public – have all just been released for public consumption,” Edwards said. “It’s literally thousands of mistakes.”

Victims attorney Jennifer Freeman said the justice department’s “handling of the Epstein files has been a mess from the start, filled with … ham-fisted redactions, while exposing the identities of survivors”.

Freeman also alluded to how Friday’s release missed a congressionally set deadline that passed in December. She said that the victim-survivors and their advocates “won’t allow the federal government to simply dump a couple million documents and wash their hands of one of the largest law enforcement failures in US history”. She also accused the justice department of “hiding the names of perpetrators while exposing survivors”.

Riiiight. Yeah. Don’t hold your breath. Because if something could have been done- it already would have.

“Give up, it’s hopeless, nothing can be done, give up, give up, give up”

I’m seeing a lot of that lately.

If you’re discouraged then log off… don’t try to drag everyone else down with you.

If you’re pushing this message for a paycheck, then I hope Ukrainian drones find you.

So if I disagree with the narrative, I’m what, a Russian agent now?

Man, you kids sure have a firm understanding of nuanced debate, don’t you?

Some people don’t see the point in needlessly hoping for someone or something to fix our problems for us. This shit isn’t ending anytime soon, but by all means, keep posting about how it sucks while doing nothing about it.

        I

So if I disagree with the narrative, I’m what, a Russian agent now?

I don’t know what you are, that’s why my sentences were prefaced with ‘if’.

I do know that the words that you’re writing, and your bad faith responses are indistinguishable from the words and responses of an outside agitator.

Thought it could be possible that you’re just a regular person who has become disillusioned.

If it is the latter, then maybe take a break and stop spreading discouragement and division.

If it is a former, please headbutt the aformentioned drone munition.

keep posting about how it sucks while doing nothing about it.

          This you?

Riiiight. Yeah. Don’t hold your breath. Because if something could have been done- it already would have.

I’m not posting about how shit sucks, I’m commenting on posts about how shit sucks. Is this difficult for you to understand? Let me try to explain:

It’s like all the people whining about how YouTube sucks. There’s post after post about their practices, how they treat content creators, users, etcetera- yet laughably, everyone still uses YouTube. It’s pathetic.

YouTube is not going to change just because you don’t like what they do. And constantly posting about it doesn’t change a thing, it’s just repetitiously doing nothing about it but complaining.

A comment pointing this out isn’t the hypocytiy think it is, so- no gotcha moment for you.

So you keep on pretending there’s a way out of this and I’ll keep on pointing out there isn’t- and at the end, if I’m right, I’ll be right and shit will suck, if I’m wrong- I’ll be wrong and shit will get better.

I’d like to be wrong. But I know I’m not.

we didn’t have to get this semantic, it’s pretty surface-level to acknowledge that doom-and-gloom comments aren’t everyone’s cup of tea

Pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking isn’t everyone’s cup of tea either. And we got to this semantic because someone thought to try and ridicule the realist’s perspective of current events.

I was fine to contribute my opinion and move on.
