Lie detector tests essentially test your gullibility and your ability to maintain calm under stress.
Funny thing is, there’s better pay, more reliable work, and access to the exact same information without the top secret clearance in the private sector.
So having said all that, it’s trivially easy to accidentally or even intentionally leak something. It’s even possible to do so without immediately getting caught.
If you apply to CSIS or CSE you need to get top secret clearance before you can accept a job. If you read about what that is, the last step is a lie detector test, which you’ll need to take regularly. This isn’t something I’m willing to do so I’ve never applied there.
Can anyone explain to me how someone from CSIS can leak something? To me it’s always been someone that has been approved to “leak” it. Who in their right mind would take that risk to leak something like this?
You do not need to take a lie detector test to get a Class 3 (Top Secret) clearance.
