I am extremely dubious.

Some things are perfect by themselves, and can’t ever be equaled. Young Frankenstein is a pinnacle of the comedy movie. Nothing anyone does is going to even match it. At best, it serves to introduce new fans to the original.

Not saying you can’t expand on classics, just that some things have no point in doing so.
