I stupidly created email accounts for my relatives with firstname@lastname.net and in the process became tech-support for my entire extended family. You WON’T BELIEVE the amount of times I get a phonecall because they can’t log into firstname.lastname.net or firstname@lastname.de or firstname.lastname.de or firstname.lastname@de it drives me crazy!

A lot of websites don’t take it due to shitty validators and people write it as Firstname@lastname.family.com and then complain they can’t email us. We’d buy lastname.com, but someone else owns it
