For an OS it would be double the lowest pay, and very far from the highest (usually earned on fishing vessels)
I don’t know what OS and AB are, but they’re paying them the 2 lowest salaries while needing the most of them. Smh typical worker treatment.

Apparently, they stand for “Ordinary Seaman” and “Able Seaman.” I can’t tell what the job is but they seem to do a great deal of chipping rust and painting.
Lowest tier of education on board. After working as an OS for 1.5 years you can take a course to become an AB.
They’re the ones that do most of the menial maintenance on board, while others are responsible for more specific stuff - navigation, admin, the engine, that sorta stuff. The tasks of the OS/AB depend on the vessel and the size of the crew.
