It was dark the first time. It was dark the second time. When the deaths are already over the hundred and the injured well over two hundreds it becomes stupid and something to mock them about. Also, the federation doesn’t count accidental falls or other kind of injuries, it counts exclusively people jumping from the balconies to try and land in the pool of a hotel. At a certain point, you have to start mocking them.

😐 No you do not. You do not have to do anything.

But you can defend this all you want. You do you, I guess. 👍 I just think people lives being lost deserves respect. For every accidental death, it was their first death. Each person didn’t die so many times. Their families didn’t “get used to it”. Their families and friends will not “mock them”.

Maybe keep that in mind while defending this childish game. 🙏 There are survivors for every death.

We have different opinions. The first time a tourist decided it was fun to jump from a 3rd floor balcony to try and land on the pool (putting not only themselves but every other guest in danger) and died, it was a tragedy. After several hundred tragedies (counting not just deaths but also injuries) it becomes something to be pissed about because those assholes are endangering innocent people with their reckless behaviour. So yeah, of course they’ll be mocked. Because if even after several hundred people getting hurt for doing something as reckless as that, they keep coming and doing it, they deserve to be mocked.

If I forgot that every person makes this mistake for the first time, I’d also think like you. But your way of thinking assumes that every person who makes this mistake somehow should have magically learned from the previous tourist’s mistake.

It’s a very stupid mistake, don’t get me wrong. But it doesn’t make it less tragic IMO.

It’s like mocking a child for not knowing calculus when all their older siblings know it. “You didn’t learn it yet?! Bahaha.” 😒

No, it’s like mocking an adult for not knowing that plummeting three stories into concrete might be dangerous, when plenty of people have already died from it and it’s very well known.

By the time you’re old enough to do alcotourism, at least a few people should have mentioned to you that gravity can hurt. Hell, perhaps you’ve even fallen once or twice yourself

I’m not saying it isn’t stupid, I’m just saying it’s still tragic. Two things can be true at once.

Are we comparing a child not knowing calculus with drunk tourists that, after more than 300 accidents, keep jumping off a bloody balcony several (sometimes tens of) meters high to try to land inside a pool while endangering every other guest that’s in the pool? The first one was a tragic mistake. Several years and several hundreds “mistakes” later, I’d say they don’t give a damn about what happens to the other people in the hotel so of course they deserve to be mocked. The first one getting injured or killed was a tragedy, the 400th one is a selfish asshole that endangered innocent people and got what they asked for. Play stupid games, and all.

drunk tourists that, after more than 300 accidents

You are still doing the same thing. It’s like you’re saying the same tourist has been jumping to his death 300–400 times without learning his lesson. That’s not the reality.

Do you need to jump from a 3rd floor to the ground to understand that it’s a dangerous reckless thing that can kill you or other guests?

These accidents are so common that there is a webpage counting them every year. And there are news about them every time it happens. You don’t need to experience this 400 times to understand that it’s dangerous, but if you read every year news about it and about how there are hundreds of accidents like these, you probably connect the dots and think “maybe jumping from a balcony several floors high to the swimming pool is a stupid idea”.

And yes, they will be mocked. Because the outcome (them dead or injured) is certainly better than the worst case scenario: them killing an innocent bystander that was simply there without trying to jump from a 3rd floor to land inside a swimming pool.

I don’t know why they don’t understand it in the moment, but it’s clear that with hundreds of cases, this is something that can happen with alcohol. It’s statistically significant that a certain percentage of visitors will kill themselves due to alcohol or drug consumption. Nobody will do this uninebriated, I can’t imagine it.

So, treat each case with respect, is all I’m saying. That’s what I would do. It’s tragic. Just like a doctor or surgeon will face stupidity their whole career, and face death by stupidity all the time, they probably won’t go around creating games and mocking their patients. Seems like a low IQ thing to do. A lack of respect. Shit happens. Be nice. 🤷‍♂️

These people come to Spain with the sole objective of getting drunk every day for very cheap. And then they get themselves killed. No, I don’t have respect for an asshole that comes to my house to trash it, drink everything on sight, cause a fuckton of problems to everyone trying to live there and then jump off a balcony to get themselves killed. This shit doesn’t happens, this shit is has a certain cause.

Also, blaming it on alcohol is even worse. You don’t get a pass because you were too drunk, you are responsible of yourself, if you drink too much and do something stupid, it’s on you, it’s not “an accident” it’s something you did to yourself and I don’t feel pity for you because you could have killed someone else with your stupid games.

My house is not your bloody playground.
