I read it as referring to immaturity rather than literal body shaming. Like, the post is telling a girl it’s okay to hook up with a teenage boy from her high school who just got his first car. She doesn’t have to “save herself” for marriage or even some idealized perfect man later in life.
I grew up in the Assemblies of God, so I was on the receiving end of a lot of purity culture messaging. There was more than a reasonable amount of discussion of how “God has chosen your perfect husband and you have to wait for him.”
I’m definitely not on board with the body shaming if that’s how it was intended. I just see that there’s more than one way to interpret that particular phrase. I choose to go with the more figurative version, which apparently puts me in the minority.
