I can’t comment on the locked post, but this

Ah yes, the classic wealthy journalist. Everyone knows that reporting is where the big bucks truly lie. I guess it’s impossible for literally anyone living anywhere but the like 3 countries that pretend to be communist to report on anything accurately.

Is literally poking at the propaganda model described by Herman and Chomsky. The point isn’t that any individual journalist is so loaded that they write to defend their wealth. It’s that they’re selected for their jobs, and are even considered for them in the first place, because they usefully slot into said jobs for the capitalist owners of the journalism outlets. With a few exceptions most of the journalists at, your choice [NYT, WaPo, Atlantic, Time, etc], are there because their pre-existing beliefs. Perfectly exemplified in this Chomsky clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLcpcytUnWU

“I don’t say you’re self-censoring. I’m sure you believe everything you’re saying. But what I’m saying is if you believed something different you wouldn’t be sitting where you’re sitting.”

Liberals individualize everything to the point that they think individual reporters and journalists have to be “in on it” in some way to contribute to propaganda.

They don’t even have to believe it, they just have to believe in nothing. If you watch the Chris Cuomo interview on the Adam Friedland Show, the distinct impression is that he doesn’t believe in anything, knows it and is proud of it. Either that or he is doesn’t ever indicate that he believes in anything, knows it and is proud of it. The effect is the same, he is chosen not only because of his connections to politics, but also because of his lack of belief in anything outside of himself. Hell, even he doesn’t believe journalists, but that never stopped him from reporting their stories.

Precisely. This stuff was completely deconstructed in Manufactured Consent. You only need to see how many people who were journalists become politicians, and vice versa, to see how intertwined these classes are.
