Im not much of a fan of Toyota’s recent styling. A lot of complex angles makes it look too busy, especially on the front, IMO. They could probably save money on tooling and resources by manufacturing a simpler design and pass the savings on to the end consumer at the same time.
The new CRV and Rav4 got too big. The little crossovers look fun but they only come with a CVT and I don’t trust them yet. Ever since they, in my opinion, fumbled the new Tacoma I’m convinced they won’t make anything I like again.
yeah the CVT’s and lack of articulation in the crossovers is a bummer, although some of the new brake assisted limited slip systems are pretty decent.
i’ve got a 2001 QX4 with only 95K miles that i plan on driving into the ground. don’t care about looks that much so any modern SUV with a solid axle is gonna be a huge upgrade for me once i’m in the market.
My 09 Tacoma has 320-330k which I also plan on running into the ground, I just might be a little closer to the ground than you. The new tacos don’t have a single cab (fine I’ll take an extended cab), only have a turbo 4 cylinder (if you must), and don’t offer a manual in the Cheap Bastard trim level (fuck yourself then). I also just checked the local dealership website and all the 2024s are 20-40% over MSRP (fuck it, I’ll walk).
The new Prius (especially the Prime) is one of the best underdog stories in car design in decades. To such an extent that I believe Toyota put every designer on the Prius face-lift project, which is why every other model has gotten cosmetically uglier between gens.

We wouldn’t see those savings. You’ll drive around a mid-range cordless tool and you’ll like it.
It really does look like a mid-range cordless tool. Spot on.
Like a knock off Makita, or a Kobalt.
I thought it looked familiar.
It looks like this guy dressed as a mid-range cordless tool for Halloween with those aggressive wheel arches.
anything by Ryobi
haha! what you think of the GX?
I had to look that piece of shit up. Looks like they took a Lego car and tried to make it a real car but also costs more than my house.
hahah don’t look at the new land cruiser then. the FJ was the ultimate lego car. they love legos! any SUV’s you like?

yeah toyotas are disgustingly marked up. i wish nissan would make a decent off roading SUV again.
If anything, I find Toyota’s recent design styles bland, save for the new Prius.
