Either you’re satisfied with dirt cheap DAC in your dongle, or you’re satisfied with the same dirt cheap DAC in most phones, or you require people to put actually good electronics in phones, which practically nobody’s gonna use anyway. You might be an outlier. I worked part time fixing electronics back when we didn’t have BT headphones, broken jack was a number one problem for any piece of electronics that had one. Granted, it was before usb-c so I can’t compare, but what I can assure you, jack is unbelievably fragile, and unless it’s premium quality (so not phones), you can’t make it less so. It gets better for pro electronics, most of those are 6.3 so bigger and beefier.

But your phone doesn’t have a big hole in it that is practically impossible to waterproof, takes all the grime and dust, randomly breaks for no reason, requires a bunch of additional space and electronics, and all that just so small minority of users can avoid having additional three cm of cable on their meter of cable.
It’s a better experience for everyone, and imperceptibly marginally worse for small percentage of people. I can’t overstate how much having a small extension on a phone cable is a non-issue. The best premium one is like 7 euro, 3 cm long, and weights 9 grams.

The problem is, AI doesn’t exist. The industry combined several different items under one umbrella, so they can sell you shit while talking about something useful.
There are many good applications for different “machine learning” systems, and we had them for decades, and they’re evolving separately. But then there is LLM. And for LLM specifically, the inevitable unavoidable huge cost in computational power and in toll it takes on humanity makes it’s not worth it, for any application, ever. It’s essentially a toy, a chat bot that is designed to trick humans into believing they’re reading a coherent speech.
There is no good application for LLM considering all what it does.
