A sleepy look from a kitty is a loving look.

Eyes wide open? Be aware the automated security system has activated on the leaping quadslasher.

The perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. I admire its purity. A survivor… unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.

I can’t lie to you about your chances, but… you have my sympathies

Unless the room’s poorly lit, then they might have huge eyes without being in murder mode.

Reminds me of when I posted a pic of my husky that was in night shot mode and a ton of replies were like “why are her pupils so dialated,” because the room was way darker IRL than what the photo looked like.

Yeah often my phone will go into night mode on its own now (I’m sure didn’t used to do that) and make genuine dark scenes look really mangledly gloomy.

Dilated pupils mean that either they’re cute and about to chase down that toy you’re waving around… or if you’re prey-sized, you’re dead.

The more a cat wants to kill something, the cuter it is.

Unless it’s another cat, or something they’re afraid of but can’t run away from.

Then it’s all spiky hair, and nails, and teeth, and swung back ears, and arched back, and hissing or, even worse, yowling like a banshee.
