I think the Consent Manufacturing machine is prepping westerns for an unsatisfying end to the war. Ukraine is clearly losing, America and the rest of Europe are tried of throwing money into a losing cause, the integration of Neo-Nazi groups into their military is getting harder to deny (especially when it’s gotten to the point of pissing off Poland, a country that should be one of their biggest allies due to mutual hatred of Russia, but I guess naming military battalions after guys who did anti-Pole pogroms is a little tough to get over). Even the NAFO freaks over at r/neoliberal have been posting articles being frank about the grim prospects of the Ukraine managing to take back any of their eastern territory.

Yeah, I think so as well. The west is all off a sudden discovering there are nazis in Ukraine, and that there’s busification, and now Syrsky has been dismissed. I can’t imagine this is business as usual. There might also be panic that Russia will take over Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, and Odessa too. So, they might be thinking of trying to wind the war down before that happens. But I can also see Europe doubling down and actually joining in too.

This just means that Iran’s fucking them up. I don’t think that much has changed in Ukraine. It’s the same attrition warfare that Russia is performing and that the West has no real answer no matter how much they cope about “human waves.” But now that Iran is blowing up US bases, they have to cut their loses, and faced between dropping “little Israel” (per Zelensky’s characterization of Ukraine as the next Israel) and the real Israel, guess which “Israel” is going to be dropped like a sack of shit?

I’m sure Iran is accelerating the problems, but wars of attrition tend to look static for a long time and then once the collapse happens things tend to accelerate rapidly. A similar thing happened during WW2 when the Soviet army marched on Berlin in a matter of months once the German fighting capacity was broken. We shouldn’t expect that Ukraine is just going to keep simmering at the same tempo indefinitely.

It’s really gonna break a lot of brains when it happens though. Even as recently as last week I was seeing hundreds of redditors circlejerking about how Russia was getting destroyed and they had no chance and they should surrender.

        A few people yeah.

I think most Americans are very fickle and lazy though. A lot of the impulse to fall for pro-western propaganda is laziness, forming an actually coherent worldview and applying it to complex geopolitical issues is a lot of work. Most Americans just swallow whatever slop is put in front of them because that’s easy.

i will never understand this. you are in a war and keep naming streets and squares after genociders that ruin your relationship with the country supporting you the most. i guess its a consequence of looking for ukranian patriots not linked to the ussr but at that point just make someone up

Poland knew from day one that the maidan clique are banderites, and the clique themselves never hid this. But Poland just didn’t reacted before at all, not even when Melnyk had his meltdown in Berlin. So they just remained openly nazi knowing Poland won’t say a word to them, this only changed now.
