Owen said his family has since ordered the numbers for their house.

So what the driver did worked. They’re putting numbers on the house. I hope this man is laughed at.

In the City of Waterloo, there is a bylaw requiring homeowners to have a clearly visible house number displayed on the property.

Sounds me like he Streisand himself.

This story likely alerted inspectors who sent him a letter to fix this within a set amount of time before fines start stacking.

If they didn’t I wouldn’t be surprised if they saw a sudden increase in “undeliverable” packages.

The larger reason for having numbers on your home is so the fire department can easily find your home if it’s on fire.

      Serious.

If you ever call 911 for a medical emergency, send someone* outside to flag down the ambulance.

*Ideally, there’s one person to stay on the line with the 911 operator. The operator will be able to give first aid instructions.

You know what else? He’s a homebuilder, he knows cleaning that off is simple. He just wanted people to hear his bitching. Fuck this guy.

The driver definitely shouldn’t have done that, but the homeowner is overreacting. This did not need to be a news story.

“Owen said he’s still angry about the permanent marker and is working to cover it up. He’s contacted several graffiti companies to inquire about the removal.”

oh… fucking grow up. No, you will not get a cash settlement from Jeff Bezos.

In the U.S. at least, a new house doesn’t get a certificate of occupancy without permanent numbers attached to the house.

I wonder if he removed his, as he’s a home builder, since apparently, it’s a law there, too.

Are house numbers different in Ontario? Are the rsndom? Here if I saw a house between 5119 and 5115 I would know it is 5117.
