It’s explicitly Biblical text that God endorses slavery (Ephesians 6:5) and opposes homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13), though. If that seems strange to you, it’s because you aren’t a Bronze Age patriarch trying to portray your material interests as aligning with the will of the perfect and infallible creator of the universe.
They actually have One Simple Trick for this: just read the bible with a critical lens! Pick and choose whatever you vibe with! Discard anything uncomfortable! It’s all metaphor anyway!
