(calling people slurs and separating by race is bad though, so while headline is funny, do be mindful)

Yeah that’s the problem with American “security.” It’s all theater no security. The TSA regularly fails to catch dangerous items in tests for example. They’d far rather violate every right you have under the pretense of safety than actually make you safe

Students at Rufus King International High School told a school resource officer that Jones was “using profane language, racial slurs, sexually derogatory statements and organizing students by race and gender in class,” according to a criminal complaint obtained by local outlet WISN.

Let the record show I don’t condone this but

She allegedly called one student “fat boy,” asked another student “if she wanted to be a stripper or a hooker,” and allegedly told two white students that “they were the type of people to start school shootings,” a 16-year-old boy told authorities.

Jones also allegedly asked if any students had a vape or weed because class was “so f***ing lame and annoying,” Fox6 News Milwaukee reported, citing the complaint.

“they were the type of people to start school shootings,” a 16-year-old boy told authorities

Wait these were high schoolers? I can imagine getting away with this on younger kids but if this happened to me when I was 16 I’d be like “okay something here is not okay I need to go tell the principal about this”.

Seems like that did sorta happen. Student told a school resource officer(a literal cop). Eventually after 3 periods (~3hrs) the “teacher” was removed once the principal found out.

So did the cop wait hrs to tell the principal or did a student eventually do it themselves?

you can really understand how child abuse is so rampant when the average mind thinks the solution for being frustrated is to just walk over to a school and take it out on some kids, you can see how casual the cruelty is too! just doing it cause ‘‘you were bored’’ or some nonchalant shit like that

Far too many adults, some barely more than teenagers themselves, simply do not see children and teenagers as human beings worthy of the same basic respect as any of their social peers. Which is a very big problem. Children are still learning how to handle the human experience and need the most grace and patience and understanding of us all, and yet so often are the people in society extended the least of those things by the rest of us. We expect children to just swallow things we’d tell nearly every adult to never stand for.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.
