Even if this total lie were somehow true, that there was something about Arab culture or Semitic people that magically made them unable to “produce culture” uhhh they’re still people?? Like they deserve exactly as much dignity and respect as any other people.

But it’s also obviously a stupid racist lie.

What kind of numbers will we use if we want to express in writing a number of how many times this asshole has been wrong. Beware the number is probably not gonna be high enough.

Most of their arguments for years could be debunked with a 5 minute search. Problem is, RFK Jr. And the like do not care. They will say that shit all the same no matter how gars you debunk them. If anything, having you spend time debunking is the whole point.

Yes because A Thousand and One Nights and the works of the Arab alchemists that were critical to the foundation of modern chemistry is all fake. /s

Your point still stands, but this is probably a bad example. Many of the stories from A Thousand and One Nights were written by European authors to keep up the sales when they ran out of the originals. Many of the ones we know today were not written outside of europe.

The sad thing is he could be surrounded by people that tell him “you’re right sir! They just sit in caves with towels on their head and plan jihads!”

Folks there really is no reason to go all the way back to the Islamic Golden Age to disprove this fool. There are many many Arab scientists and writers alive and kicking at this moment right now.

I thought his brain was just so addled that he fucked his speech up. He tried to say the Muslim Brotherhood caused all Muslims to stop contributing to society. He’s mentally ill and racist, basically.

Odd thing to say, as the religion these people claim to follow (and the “book” attached to it) is a reworked and simplified (i.e. monotheistic) believe system started in what is now Iran and Iraq. And if it wasn’t for “Arab” maps and maritime science, Europeans would never been able to start their colonial sea expansion and, subsequently, the great-great-great parents of this scum would have reach the Americas … just saying.

That’s an interesting topic, separate from the MainTopic (RFK is an absolute idiot). I’d push back on the idea that Portuguese and Spanish exploration was fundamentally based on Arab teachings: they drew on knowledge from many sources and developed their own navigation practices. Still, Arabic-speaking scholars helped preserve, develop, and transmit important astronomy and mathematics that influenced Europe.

Likewise, Islam emerged in a late-antique world shaped by Judaism and Christianity, among other traditions.

@barkas, indeed. Also the triangular sail, which allow the Portuguese to navigate down the African coast and reach the Cape of the Good Hope, and then go “back up” via the other side of the Atlantic (possibly getting an idea of where is Brazil, decades before Columbus reached America).

On Judaism, consider the Persian influence in early Judaism – probably all 3 monotheistic (aka Abrahamic) religious are initially influenced by key concepts from Zoroastrianism… some of the tribes of Israel had links there… but that’s another story…

Just written language, math, and the basic foundation of scientific advancement. Without those things, the brain worm might have prevented us from having to deal with him.
