He’s the best candidate the Democrats have for a variety of reasons.

I keep hearing that but I never hear what those reasons are.

And if brain melting genocide Joe is the absolute best candidate in the whole party, the party is pretty fucked, even beyond this election.

I swear Democrats are still operating on trauma from the 1968-1988 elections. They tried someone they considered slightly further left? He lost so we can’t do that again. They had the sitting president drop out? His replacement lost so we can’t do that again. They’re so focused on that time period that they don’t look at what caused their recent losses. It’s not even about ideology or protecting capital or whatever, they could just swap in another ghoul. There’s no good reason to keep Biden other than “we lost the last time we did it (never mind that that was 56 years ago)”.

Also they use “unprecedented” as a crutch, as if unprecedented means bad. Unprecedented actions can be good strategies but they don’t want to believe that.

The NYT and friends drive me crazy with this.

If things aren’t going well, that’s exactly when you do things differently! That’s the whole point!

Therapist: You should try this new thing

      Me: Sorry that’s totally unprecedented

      Therapist: Yes
