is a gouache-on-paper painting by Spanish Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, which, in turn, is an alteration of a work by an unknown artist.[1] Completed in 1973,

It always throws me off to read how recent Salvador Dali was. For some reason, he’s always seemed framed in the 19th century to me. Knowing that he was able to pop out Bed, Chair and Bedside Table Ferociously Attacking a Cello and go see Return of the Jedi that night is so strange. I should have this knowledge internalized by now but it’s never stuck.

Salvador Dali was an incredibly talented artist, but also a bit of a troll avant la lettre.

“Hey guys I had a dream where me and Hitler were having sex and painted it!”

He’d be posting on /b/ if he’d lived in the 2010s.
