A bit too serious reply for your comment, but “prison abolitionism” is such a far-in-the-future topic that discussing it is essentially idealism. You simply cannot abolish prisons (or, more accurately, entirely eliminate deprivation of movement rights) while capitalism exists in the world.

But the Novara guys do seem to have jumped the gun a bit declaring this the birth of anglo-maoism, and all the other stuff in the same vain as Fisher claiming Blair had ushered in a new period of “market stalinism”
