Kraft Mac and “”““Cheese””“” is like if you put a mixture of yellow cardboard and pasta into the Pack-a-Punch machine from Treyarch Zombies.
It’s the blandest ass mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. The stuff I got in school while growing up tasted better. And I live in the US!
It’s 👌that bad👌
The other day I grabbed a box of mac and cheese and made it.
I was sitting there thinking “Why the FUCK does this taste so bland and slightly nasty?”
I forced myself to finish it because, well, those are still perfectly good calories right there! Hated it though.
In hindsight I must’ve accidently grabbed my brother’s stash of on brand Kraft stuff.
I like Aldi’s store brand version of the stuff on grounds of “it’s cheap” and “it has flavor”. (I’m not a complicated woman.)
Idk what the fuck is wrong with his and Michelle’s tongues, but they need a serious case of recalibration.
Hell he adds tuna whenever making his stuff.
And honestly it’s personal too. Grew up with that “Kraft” stuff and I genuinely thought I hated mac and cheese.
Oh and Bud Light can get thrown in the dumpster too. Beer will never rival the delight of store brand Dr. Pepper, but I can genuinely appreciate the mixture of the bitterness and tang of the ethanol. The flavor is complicated and can grew on me. Beer can be a genuinely pleasant drink!
Bud Light is just pure bitterness, it’s disgusting. I also have zero interest in getting drunk, so there’s that going against it too.
You gotta’ church it up with some hot pepper or garlic or something. Use it like a base and add whatever you have that makes it better. That’s the key for box mac, ramen, jar curry, etc.
I often employ the hot sauce method. Definitly makes your average cheap mac and cheese more interesting.
But with the Kraft stuff… You know the whole “polishing a turd” idiom?
Excuse me, I think you’ll find that Kraft Dinner is “the Cheesiest.”
But you’re so right, last time I went to an Aldi, they had smoked Gouda and Truffle & porcini box macs which were quite good and much better than KD.
I’m an absolute SUCKER for their store brand soda too!
Back when I used to be able to eat it, I always added the following to make it taste better.
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Paprika
Tiny bit of cayenne
Ground Mustard
Throw in some other cheese to taste (anything not stringy usually works, but I would default to some form of cheddar or parmesan depending on the mood I was in)
It’s at least what I used to do. It’s agreeable with most western palettes (maybe aside from the cayenne) and kicks it up a nice notch for those looking for more from their mac.
Also, some people like simple flavors. It doesn’t make their views on food any worse than anyone else’s.
Bud Light is just pure bitterness, it’s disgusting. I also have zero interest in getting drunk, so there’s that going against it too.
Bud Light isn’t even good for getting drunk.
Even when I was a kid that stuff was hit and miss. Velveeta is a bit better tho, actually taste like cheese.
Velveeta should make a vegan version of their cheese. It already gives off the impression that the only reason cows are involved are so they can claim “it’s really cheese.” But there are people who want “it’s not really cheese.”
I like Velveeta. Aldi’s has their own store brand version of it and I like it too.
Bud Light is like making love in a canoe. It’s fucking close to water.
I like Aldi’s store brand version of the stuff on grounds of “it’s cheap” and “it has flavor”. (I’m not a complicated woman.)
Based
this is tuna mac slander and i will not stand for it. the rest is on point though.
Tuna added into a good mac and cheese is fantastic!

Making fun of Kraft Ez Mac TM is…
reaches into the bucket
looks like it says… ableism this time around!
Sorry, did someone else already claim starting the next struggle session?
20 years ago when I was living in the US for work I had a roommate who ate four boxes of kraft mac n cheese with 8 cut up fried hot dogs every night.
That’s around 5500 calories

I would be surprised if they were still around. They also smoked a pack a day and drank til black out most nights.
well that would explain part of it, drinking and smoking also disrupts digestion of foods so.
Hmmgh… Sorry I just… God hot dogs are disgusting.
Lol was your roommate Tim Cramblin?
I honestly think it has gotten blander and worse over time as they’ve adjusted the recipe to maximize profit. Not to say it was excellent to start with.
I know they definitely did this, they all do this. But even back in the early 2010s I found it fairly unpleasant.
You’d think whatever flavour they’re subtracting could be just as easily substituted with salt and sugar-adjacents for the American food audience at this point.
I ate Kraft mac and cheese once as a kid and it made me break out in hives. True story
Reminds me of the left eye headache joke ashens made in this video. It’s a good joke.
Which reminds me, I wonder if Dan is autistic? A lot of us autists do that food sensitivity thing, much like Dan.
It’s a personal pet theory of mine.

Mac and cheese is so easy to make in an instantpot and is 1000% better than kraft
Trader Joe’s frozen mac and cheese is still baller
