Looks kinda like a wasp nest.
Light makes it all the way through.

Petrified honeycomb?
Looks more like a wasp nest.
If OP hadn’t said “petrified” it looks just like a paper wasp nest - that color and curve.
But I could be wrong, really cool though! I’m only a little jealous
I think maybe corral…it’s got a slight curve to it.
Sometimes things do that if they transition phases slowly. One side drying faster than the other for example.
I immediately thought of the cereal, which I haven’t seen in ages.
Honey Comb was one of my favorites!
Just coral. It’s always coral.
That’s what I clicked through to say. 🤓
This looks a lot like pieces of coral my family brought back from costa rica. Very cool find.
Neat. Where did you find it?
At a cellular tower site. I have small periods of time, throughout the day, that I can stare at the gravel. Rooftops can be a good spot to look, as well.
That’s gotta be a wasp nest
If it is, it’s petrified.
I would be too. Wasps are scary.
That’s really neat, I’ve never seen anything quite like that
Urgh…
Trypophobia trigger
Fossilized coral! I found a piece like that on a beach in Florida once.
Yeah, that’s a bit of coral
Awesome rock!
Looks like a piece of someone’s catalytic converter
Somehow this doesn’t set off my trypophobia.
I’ve seen ceramic in industrial applications that kind of look like this, but I’m not seeing any pores in the material though.

That’s not very cool rocks of them.
I don’t see those people in this thread, and you replied to yourself. Was this intentional?
Yes. I have a stalker and this is to alert several admins at once.
